Boy Scouts started the camp on Palomar Mountain

Scouts had been camping in the area before 1930. Around that time, the boys and their adult leaders built a cabin for the owner of some land.
The scouts were in Troop 11, and the Scoutmaster was R.C. (Bob) Fleisher, Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church in San Diego. The land was owned by Robert Asher, a member of the Church, who wanted to live in a cabin on the mountain for his health.
The relationship continued intermittently until 1950 when Asher deeded the final portion of his land to the church. This resulted in a flurry of enthusiasm and activity in the church. Money was raised and work parties were organized to build the camp.
The Conference Center has grown substantially since 1951, when it was incorporated. PCCC is now serving interdenominational groups and churches.

In 2004 PCCC revived it’s roots of reaching young men by adding Outdoor Adventure Camp.
